Wonderland: Help?
Well, it's a bit weird posting art this early in but whatever.
This is an unfinished drawing I was working on with a friend- we each were doing one, and connected them. She doesn’t want to finish hers (the mushroom one), though, so I’m finishing both.
And my dilemma is- what to do with the background? I probably want more monochrome colors since everything else is so bright, but I’m not sure about what. One person I asked suggested gray and light brown (gray on mine, and then it would gradate to brown), but I’m not sure. Does anyone on here have any ideas or suggestions?
I REALLY want to finish this so I can hang it up, so anything would be appreciated (:
If close-ups are needed, I can add them too.

Oh that is really neat! Hmm maybe make the background into a design of two colors? Like a wave of colors? Don't know what you are looking for so just throwing out suggestions.
Re: Wonderland: Help?
Thanks! (:
Hmm, that sounds cool. I'm kinda looking for a gradation of colors between the two, though (like what you see with our rainbow path), with only a color or two per picture. Preferably ones that haven't been used a lot already, which is why I'm leaning toward more monochrome/dull ones.

Re: Wonderland: Help?
Maybe you could do a greyish-blue on your side of the wavy path, and then a brown or dull yellow on your friend's side of the path. You seemed to use mostly cool colors on your side, and your friend seemed to use more warmer colors, so giving the background a duller color in that pallet might bring the colors more. Or, you could switched them, and make the colors pop through contrast. But, I would still continue a level of warm vs. cool contrast, since the picture already seems to follow that.

The perpetual "wonderland" colors are red and black (representing the two separate colors of the suits of playing cards).
Something that I think would seriously, seriously kick ass in the background would be a perspective checkerboard of two colors. I'd have suggested red and black, but you've already used quite a bit of red; you also want to use dull colors, so how about a black and gray checkerboard design, with the horizon being off in the distance, but each "side" of the artwork has the checkerboard background gradually closing in on the foreground?
Worth some consideration, no?

@Spiritvoice: Yeah, that could work. I also wanna keep the contrast, so that color scheme works well.
@Maelstrom: I do like your idea, but the thing is that my side is already basically a checkerboard pattern. It might be overkill if I add more xD
